Microsoft Office Specialist Achievement

19 Feb

Congratulations to the very first Microsoft Office Specialist Student @ Elkanah House who took the plunge and achieved 95.4% for his Word 2010 exam on Friday, 17th February 2012!  Shaun approaches the opportunity to prepare for and achieve the MOS Certification very seriously. He is definitely a role model during the once a week lesson, timetabled into the academic day, at Elkanah House High School. The certification covers basic, intermediate and advanced skills of the Microsoft Office 2010 applications. I look forward to the achievements of the Grade 8 to Grade 11 students this year.

Well done Shaun, I am oh so proud of you!

Elkanah House offers students the newest Microsoft Office Specialist qualification which validates skills in the 2010 Microsoft Office system, covering Microsoft Office

Word 2010,
Excel 2010,
PowerPoint 2010,
Access 2010 or Outlook® 2010.

The programme is run over a two year period and exams are written either individually or as a class group. Each student is required to complete the four Microsoft Office Specialist exams over a two year period. Each time a student passes an exam, a Specialist Certificate is issued to the student. Tutorials are available for students after school as well as a timed practice test.

After completion of four exams, the student will achieve the Microsoft Office Specialist Core Certification.
Expert-level exams are also available for Word 2010 and Excel 2010.

Elkanah House has recently upgraded the IT Centre and Library Resource Centre computers – I have added some pics below.
