Well where do I start…I feel like I could write a book of all the experiences I have had throughout my life. My name is Linda Foulkes and I live in Cape Town, South Africa.
I am extremely privileged to have three absolutely stunning boys aged 22, 25and 27. They are my world. The other members of my immediate family are my beautiful dogs, Laila and Bruno and a very noisy sun conure called Margherita.
My other passion is training. I absolutely am at my best when I am training others how to use desktop applications | teaching the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification | TeachMeets as well as showing teachers how to integrate using technology.
I was at Elkanah House School from 2006 till December 2014.. I was employed as a Training and Integration Co-ordinator but my position changed quite a bit over the years to include being part of the ICT Department and the Academic Department, and a tutor teacher to a bunch of stunning young ladies.
Prior to Elkanah House, I was employed at Edgemead High School for one year as the CAT teacher and coached netball. I spent seven years as an ICDL Trainer for staff and students, Technology Teacher and Integrator at Parklands College. Prior to Parklands I was employed as a Senior Computer Trainer and for a couple of months took over as Branch Manager of PricewaterHouseCoopers CompuTeach Division where I conducted training for corporate clients.
It all began at UCT where I worked at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Sociology, Graduate School of Business and Department of Molecular and Cell Biology faculties for eight years. Whilst working in the various private secretarial positions I got very involved with the undergraduate and postgraduate computer labs and started equipping myself with the skills to train others to use the computer. I had finally found my niche!
The rest is history….the seed was planted! My recent passion is something quite different … cake decorating … check out my website @ http://icedcreations.wordpress.com
I have joined the Netlearn Update Team and my responsibility is: Area Manager | Trainer | Assessor for the Western Cape. This new position involves opening of the Cape Town office. So excited for the year ahead.
Towards the end of last year I was selected with others from South Africa as an MIEExpert 2015 – Microsoft Innovative Expert Educators
